Allison Warren grew up in Southern California immersed in beaches, mountains, and lush gardens which created an affinity for nature in daily life. After the purchase of a mid-century house, she began sourcing soft goods that matched the simple yet nature-inspired design attributes of the home. She felt there was a gap for these items in the marketplace, and Modernplum was born. She started her career marketing Nabisco Brands in New York City and have since managed my own firm as a fiber-based environmental artist, designer, and educator. Her work has received recognition from curators at various venues including the Whitney Museum of American Art. She went to Cranbrook Academy of Art in Detroit where she studied Fiber and the academy’s modernist design traditions. Former Cranbook alums Ray Eames, Florance Knoll and Jack Lenor Larson continue to inspire her work today.
