Michael Moran and Celia Gibson, the couple behind Moran Woodworked Furniture, are committed to honoring the natural beauty of wood through traditional craftsmanship, the responsible selection of materials and a modern approach to design. Michael, raised among the walnuts, ash and sycamores of Kentucky, Tennessee and Wisconsin, made his way to Charleston through academia and sport but remained to found Moran Woodworked Furniture in 2004. Celia, initially far more familiar with books than with trees, has lived beside both the familiar pines of the southeast and the spidery pollards of central London. After completing her Master’s degree at University College London, she moved to the lowcountry to join Michael and Moran Woodworked Furniture as a partner.
