Michele Quan designs and sculpts ceramic art and objects for the home. Her contemplative pieces are inspired by natural shapes, and exhibit her self described “wonder” for expressing the meaning behind Eastern iconography. Her forms are hand sculpted, wheel thrown, or split cast in stoneware, earthenware, and porcelain…and often have found and natural materials incorporated. Michele is a soulful individual who finds inspiration in nature and creating with her hands. Her work provides a much need moment of peace and reflection in our distracted lives. She works out of her studio in Brooklyn, and lives in NYC with her husband, daughter, and dog Sparrow.

Patti Smith’s ‘Just Kids’. ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ was the book that got me into reading in school. ‘Gilead’ by Marilyn Robinson was the last book that knocked me over. ‘Start Where you are’ by Pema Chodren, I can always pick up and read from any page. Everything by Charles Bukowski. This makes me wish I had more time to read.
